Discover the nuances of Attis Brancellao
The Tinta Brancellao grape variety was about to disappear in the Galician lands, but nowadays, thanks to the work of winegrowers and winemakers such as the Attis Bodega y Viñedos family, it has been recovered in both old and new vines.
One of the greatest exponents of this type of grape is the red wine Attis Brancellao, a monovarietal of very limited production, with only 470 bottles. It is a barrel-aged red belonging to the Rías Baixas denomination of origin.
Winemaking of Brancellao de Attis
As with the rest of the wines made by the Galician winery Attis, the harvest and selection of the grapes with which the Brancellao is made are carried out manually, selecting only the best bunches to give a unique red wine of the best quality.
After the destemming process, the alcoholic fermentation of the broth is carried out in 225-liter barrels. After 15 days of maceration and malolactic fermentation, it is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting notes of Brancellao red
Brancellao is an elegant, fine and delicate wine thanks to its reddish tones that combine perfectly with its aromas of red fruits and notes of minerals and barrel. In the mouth it is very round and expressive, a perfect sample of the properties that are hidden behind this recovered grape variety.
It is a perfect red wine to accompany all kinds of white meat or red meat dishes and for oily fish.
