Verdejo

Vineyard

Vineyards between 20 and 25 years old, located in Rueda and La Seca, at more than 700 m of altitude on stony soils. They are land of sliced work due to their unevenness, which allow a very good aeration and insolation of the plant. The climate of continental in uence, with great differences in temperature between day and night in the little summer, favors the good balance between sugar and acidity.

Harvest

Night harvest, with temperatures below 15ºC.

Winemaking

Destemming and pressing. Cryomaceration in inert atmosphere, to extract Varietal aromas. Soft pneumatic pressing, and subsequent natural decanting of the must at low temperature. Fermentation at low temperature. Then ripens on the Lees of the fermentation for 2 months.

Alcohol

13% Vol.

Tasting Note

Visual: pale yellow with greenish red.
Nose: intense aromas of fruit such as peach, combine with cut grass, citrus, balsamic and minerals.
Palate: good volume and persistence, well integrated acidity and a characteristic anise aftertaste.

Origin

When, in 2004, we began to explore in search of the wine regions with the most potential in Spain, we discovered in Rueda the Verdejo vineyards, a variety capable of conquering the palate of lovers of the most aromatic whites. In the heart of Castile, a hard area to work the vine, with Bardos we pay tribute to all the men and women who dedicate their lives to the countryside.

In Bodegas Bardos we produce wines by hand, trying to make them the re ejo of the landscape and the Castilian climate, a place where only the bravest dare to work the Earth in the most extreme conditions, where the cold shrinks the bones, the wind cuts the flesh and the sun burns the skin. A place only suitable for authentic wine “bards”, our winemakers.
