Few production (2-3 thousand kg / ha).
Manual harvest on October 15.
Fermentation in stainless steel and malolactic in French oak.
12 months in French oak barrels, half new and half second use.
Visual: cherry red garnet very intense and alive.
Nose: delicate and highly complex. Intense aromas of violets and roses. Freshness provided by black fruits (blackberries, raspberries and blueberries), orange peel, pepper and balsamic aromas (dill, rosemary and bay leaf).
Palate: balanced and round, fresh and pleasant. Unctuous and persistent in the mouth. Mature tannins.
This collection is a tribute to Garnacha, a variety historically denoted by its complicated viticulture, for which Vintae feel authentic devotion. Both Richi Arabarri, CEO of the company, and Raul Acha, technical director, come from Alto Najerilla, the area of La Rioja with the highest concentration of old vineyards of this variety, which both know well. Its Family Vineyards are the starting point to explore the Ebro Valley in search of the best garnachas, which transfer to the glass the landscape from which they come.
With this project, we want to demonstrate that Garnacha is a world-class variety and we do it through six wines made in five different areas of Aragon, Catalonia and Rioja, where we have sought and recovered ancient vineyards. Richi and Raul discovered by Chance The Vineyard of The Lost Grenache of the Pyrenees in 2015 and fell in love at the time of this subtle high Grenache.
