Laventura Malvasía has a golden colour with primary floral aromas of honeysuckle and fruit aromas of gooseberry, lemon rind, peach, apricot and quince. Secondary aromas such as butter, nuts, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg are present due to the lees contact and oxidative ageing for one year. Slight presence of tertiary aromas such as honey and hay. The palate is textured and layered with a slight waxiness. The tannin is exclusively from the grapes. Good acidity, body and palate length.
The wine is made from the grape Malvasía, from vineyards in Leza planted above 580m high that hug the Sierra Cantabria in Rioja Alavesa. The cool climate preserves the acidity and promotes later ripening to allow the grapes to reach their full phenolic maturity. it is a skin contact white wine that is aged in a cement egg.
