Vineyard & Harvest

Farm wine or payment whose grapes come exclusively from the Vineyard “El Tejar“, located in the area of our property known as”Malacapa”. An exception within the exception that our “terroir” in the foothills of the Sierra de Moncalvillo represents with respect to the frame of La Rioja Alta. Our vineyards, usually, are located at an altitude ranging from 500 to 700 meters above sea level with a north – northeast orientation and settle on Rocky and stony soils with abundant ferruginous material. “El Tejar”, and our “Malacapa ” payments as a whole, are the only ones on our property with South orientation and a sandy soil with plenty of calcareous material.

Winemaking & Ageing

100% Tempranillo grapes harvested by hand and in boxes. The wine was fermented in barrels (both alcoholic and malolactic) of French oak with a subsequent aging in the same 14 months.

Tasting Note

Picota red with Garnet trim. Medium-high layer. Clean, bright and with abundant tear. Good aromatic intensity. Clear and clean nose. A still glass appear spicy notes and futa negra, jam of blackberries and berries accompanied. The alcohol is noticeable slightly but without pricking. Notes of licorice. Well integrated barrel providing spicy notes and a touch of pepper. Over time, more toasted notes appear. In short, a complex nose to enjoy calmly. In the mouth, polished, balanced and round. With medium body and good structure. Fresh acidity at the entrance and warm memory of alcohol at the end. Well compensated. Long finish with hints of ripe and spicy black fruits.
