Magnum Extenso 2009

The Extenso 2009 wine from Carchelo winery is an author’s wine from the vineyards of the Sierra del Carche area, Jumilla, which is presented in a magnum bottle (1.5 liters) of a style halfway between Bordeaux and Rhine, fine, elegant, totally opaque to light with the corporate colors of Bodegas Carchelo, black and white. At the same time, the wine is protected by another wooden bottle that we open in two halves to reveal its content. All presented in an elegant black case together with four silkscreen-printed glasses with the winery’s logo and a corkscrew.

Winemaking Of Extensive Magnum

For the elaboration of the Extenso 2009 wine from Bodegas Carchelo, a manual harvest was carried out during September 2009 in small boxes. Later, the bunches were shelled by hand on a selection table in the cellar. The alcoholic fermentation with proper yeasts of the grapes took place in a French oak cubic barrel followed by a malolactic fermentation in the same containers, with controlled and constant temperature, and two years of aging in a French oak barrel and 10 years of refining in the bottle. Limited edition of only 530 special magnums.

Tasting notes of Extenso Magnum

The Extenso 2009 wine from Bodegas Carchelo is very deep and lively highlighting ruby tones, on a maroon background. The nose stands out for its enormous elegance, everything is subtleties of the fusion of the characters of ripe fruit and notes that remind us of cedar and an infinity of spices, such as cloves, nutmeg or peppers. Finally, in the mouth it has a firm structure, with well-integrated tannins thanks to the malo-lactic in barrel, which produces an authentic explosion of fruity characters of enormous persistence.
