Winemaking

For the vinification of Mar de Batea grapes are used from vineyards with very calcareous soil in which water drains very easily. The age of the vineyards is between 15 and 30 years old. All the works carried out in these vineyards are carried out in an artisanal way. The wine rests between 6 and 7 months in Frech oak “fudre” or 2.500 liter barrel.

Underwater Ageing

After aging in fudre the wine bottles are immersed in the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea for 9 months, during which the wine continues its evolution to become more balanced.

Tasting notes

This underwater wine or scuba wine has dense violet color that shows aromas of red fruits with a touch of thyme. In the mouth it has a long journey that does not leave you indifferent, with a taste of red fruits, balsamic touches and cocoa. A very well balanced and round wine, with the freshness of a young wine with a velvety touch in the mouth.
