Characteristics of Peña el Gato in Clay Jar

Bodegas Juan Carlos Sancha presents this red wine made with the Garnacha grape variety from vineyards planted in 1917 located on slopes at 650 meters, in one of the coolest areas of La Rioja. It is a limited edition 600 bottles of red wine with DOCA Rioja.

The grapes are harvested during the month of October, completely manually, selecting the best bunches of Grenache. After destemming, the grapes are fermented and then aged in 500 liter capacity clay jars. The resting time in the jars is 11 months, during which it is impregnated with unique properties.

The red wine Peña el Gato Garnacha Tinaja catches the eye with its intense bluish color. On the nose, its fruity aromas remind us of forest fruits such as raspberries and also strawberries, smells that combine perfectly with its elegance on the palate, where it is also structured and balanced, with silky tannins and a long finish.
