Vineyard

The vineyards are distributed between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro river, mainly in Rioja Alavesa, settled on clay-calcareous soils of non irrigated land. Pruning is done in a spur pruning. The average age is 40 years and they are at an average altitude of 480.

Winemaking

Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in concrete tank. Usual head plunging throughout the process of alcoholic fermentation.

Barrel Aging

12 months in American oak barrels.

Alcohol Volume: 13,7 %, Total Acidity: 4,6 g./l., pH: 3,75; Volatile Acidity : 0,55 g./l.; Total SO2: 60 mg./l.

In 2016 “Encinares del Sur” received award for the best Acorn-fed Iberian Ham according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment. That is the best ham in Spain and the world. Encinares del Sur products go with the Official Black seal, which is the distinction of maximum quality in breeding and curing, according to the Iberian Quality Regulations (Royal Decree 4/2014).

Description

Calfskin of the best quality. No cuts, no marks. Wine boot, embroidered calfskin with La Rioja Shield design. Straight shape. Latex interior, to use with any drink: wine, water, beer, pacharan, soft drinks… Marking and cutting by hand. Machine sewn for perfect sealing. The embroidery is done with an industrial machine. Cotton cord.

Instructions & Maintenance

Before use, rinse with water several times and you are ready to use.

Sugar, cocoa paste, cocoa butter, milk powder, red wine DOCª Rioja Tempranillo Variety (contains sulfites), anthocyanins, soy lecithin and vanilla. Store in a cool, dry place.
