100% Grenache (Garnacha)
Old vineyard planted in 1906, located in ferrous clay soil at about 600 meters altitude.
Destemming and manual grape selection. Traditional grape treading. The fermentation takes place in Open French oak barrels with capacity for 500 liters, where the bazookas are made. Then the descubre is done, using the spindle press.
For 36 months in new French oak barrels of 225 liters.
Visual: dark cherry red.
Nose: deep notes of fruit with persistence that characterizes wines from very old vines, elegant maturity with a delicate earthy memory.
Palate: pure elegance, shows freshness and delicate ripe red fruit with hints of tobacco and spices, dense flavors in which you can already guess the persistent end that will have, after the fruit, appear terroir and slight mineral touches. Surprising finish for a delicate and ripe wine.
This project is a tribute to Garnacha, a variety historically forgotten and denoted by its complicated viticulture. Project Garnachas is a collection of monovarietal wines made in different areas of the Ebro Valley and from very old vineyards. Each wine expresses all the nuances and singularities of its production area.
