Coming from a vineyard located in Cuzcurrita del Rio Tiron, in an enclave known as “Viñas de Rioja”. Planted in 1982, in goblet training with an average altitude of 575 metres over a sandy clayish soil. North-west orientation. Atlantic microclimate. Average production of 5400 kgs/hectare.
Sking Cold Maceration of the destemmed, uncrushed grapes for 3 days.
Fermentation is carried out into “smart tanks” after destemming with natural yeast at a controlled temperature for 9 days.
Malolactic fermentation in French oak casks. Aged for 10 months in the same barrels.
Stabilization took place in the barrels without adding fining substances.
Bottled without filtration techniques to respect the natural qualities of the wine.
Limited production limited at 9.700 bottles of 750 ml.
Bright and clean, with intense red cherry color and purple hints on the border
The aroma is intense, elegant and complex. Stream of aromas, first showing black fruits such as prunes and red forest fruits (currants & blackberries) over a smoky, spicy (nutmeg & cinnamon) and toffee backdrop. Good balance fruit – oak.
On the palate it is gentle, velvety unctuous, gliceric and and very bulky. Long, very structured, satiny, full-bodied & powerful,. Fleshy and ripe with a long, lingering finish. Aftertaste of red ripe fruit and creamy and fine oak.
Alcohol: 13,93% Total Acidity: 5.81 g/l (Ac. Tartaric) Sugar Reducing: 1.5 gr/l. Recommended Temperature: 16-18ºC.
