Talla de Diamante Semi-Sweet Rioja
Talla de Diamante, a complex and balanced wine
The prestigious Franco-Españolas Winery has created this white wine from Viura grapes (75%) native in La Rioja, along with White Tempranillo (20%). This is one of the most special characteristics of Talla de Diamante wine, a jewel of this Rioja winery.
This broth not only has a mixture of grapes, but also plots and soil types. Thus, the Viura strains (more than 30 years old), are located in one of the westernmost areas of the D.O.Ca. Rioja, on clay-limestone soils. On the other hand, White Tempranillo grapes grow in a more central area of La Rioja on a clay-sandy soil.
The quality of this white wine is noticeable thanks to awards and recognitions such as the 92 Points, Sub30 Wine.
Winemaking of the La Talla de Diamante
After the harvest and arrival at the winery, the cold maceration and fermentation of the three grape varieties are carried out, which achieves a greater aromatic and flavor complexity in the final broth. Once the perfect balance between sweetness, acidity and structure has been reached, this broth is bottled, obtaining a young white of category.
In a tasting of the Talla de Diamante, the first thing that stands out is its straw yellow color with certain green flashes. The aromas that predominate are those that remind of ripe fruit, citrus and exotic fruits, which match perfectly with their potency in the mouth, where the citrus notes make an appearance again.
The perfect pairing for this semi sweet-white
This white wine is ideal to drink as an aperitif, but also to accompany main dishes of fish or seafood, as well as rice dishes or cold dishes. Thanks to its balance between sweetness and acidity, it is also a perfect accompaniment to desserts.
