Product Information

Vineyards

Tempranillo (80%) comes from a vineyard planted in 1982 in Cuzcurrita del Rio Tiron, in “Viñas de Rioja”, in goblet training with an average altitude of 560 m. over a sandy clayish soil. North-west orientation. Atlantic microclimate. Production: 5,450 kgs/Ha.

Graciano (13%). Located in Arnedo, at an altitude more of 650 m. South East Orientation. On a low nutrient and shallow clayish-ferric soil with gravel substrate, restraining its productivity. Production: 4.600 Kgs/Ha.

Garnacha (7%), comes from a vineyard located in Tudelilla, planted in 1930. Productivity: 2,500 Kg/Ha. Soil filled with gravel and stones. Orientation; south-east. Altitude: 530 m. Microclimate: Atlantic with Mediterranean influence. 

Winemaking 

Whole berry cold maceration is carried out after destemming at controlled temperature during 3 days.
Fermentation is carried out into “smart tanks” at controlled temperature.
Malolactic fermentation took place in oak barrel, following by a aging for 18 months in the same French and American oak barrel.
Stabilisation took place in the barrels during the aging process, without any clarify process.
Bottled without filtration in order to respect the quality of the wine. 

Tasting Notes 

Brilliant and clear appearance. Cherry red color with intense garnet trims.
Fragrant aroma of ripe red fruit (strawberries, currants), licorice, black fruit such as plums, lactic and cocoa notes on a background of ecualiptus and violets.
On the palate is unctuous, voluminous with an integrating freshness. Vivid and polished tannins. Large aftertaste of ripe fruit and cocoa. Long and persistent. 

Analysis 

Alcohol: 14.85%, Sugar Reducing: 2.2 gr/l., Total Acidity: 5,30 g/l  (Ac. Tartaric), pH: 3,58, Total SO2: 70 mg/l.
