The Origin of Nautilus Underwater Volcanic Malvasia
Lanzarote, one of the Canary islands, is a unique place in the world, a place transformed by volcanic ashes, which has given rise to a fertile land where unique and singular grape is grown, such as volcanic malvasia. This type of grape is grown in La Geria, in holes protected with semicircular walls of volcanic stone that protect them from the sun and the constant wind of the island. The cultivation of the white malvasia is done manually. Volcanic stone retains the moisture.
The particularity of the terroir permits Nautilus Winery to carry out the project of making a unique wine in the world, dry white wine from Malvasia Blanca, which rests under the Atlantic Ocean for 4 months.
