In the year 2023 Bodegas Carchelo launches its new project Vina Maris Blanco 2022 with underwater aging.

This white wine is shipped in a customized cardboard case with a wooden effect finish and a natural burlap interior, which received the National Award for the Best Design for Wine Packaging.

It is a Limited Edition of 1,331 bottles of 750 cl.

Elaboration of White Vina Maris

The following varieties were used in the elaboration of this wine: 50% Verdejo and 50% Sauvignon Blanc, planted in sandy soils with the presence of clays and limestone cover.

The harvest was carried out manually in August 2022, in boxes of 15 kilos.

After its fermentation in French oak barrels of 500 liters with soft roasting, it underwent 3 months of aging with its lees and 6 months in bottle at 40 meters underwater depth in the Mediterranean Sea. 12,5% alc.

Tasting notes of Vina Maris Blanco

Vina Maris White 2022 presents a lemon yellow color, clean and bright, with some green shades. On the nose, it has fresh citrus notes, lime zest, herbaceous notes and hints of fennel and white almond.

With a medium body and medium to high acidity, it is soft on the palate, where elderflowers, hints of hay, citrus, pear and hints of green melon are perceived.

The six months of underwater ageing have enhanced the mineral and refreshing notes, making it more balanced and silky, with an elegant finish.

Pairing of underwater white wine Vina Maris?

This wine is ideal to accompany grilled or steamed seafood, prawns, mussels or clams. It also pairs perfectly with salads, rice dishes and risottos, white meats, soft pasta cheeses and marinated dishes.

We recommend a storage between 9 and 11°C.
