The Reserva white wines have spent a minimum of 6 to 12 months in barrel and then rest in their bottles for a long time to complete 24 months, reaching in some cases up to 3 years.
Like the red Reserva wines, the whites should rest in the cellars, in a quiet, calm environment and with very little light. There the humidity levels are controlled so that the oxygenation process finishes settling the flavors of the wine.
Once they leave the cellars, these wines can be kept from 3 to 8 years, and can even reach up to 10 years. During this period, broths usually improve their characteristics, provided that they are kept in optimal conditions. We thank this to the tannins that give the broth an antioxidant and protective quality that keeps it for a long time.
To properly taste the Reserva white wines, it is best to also know the different varieties of grapes with which they are made. Each region, vineyard and fruit offers characteristics that make these wines a unique experience, which deserves the attention of your palate.
Some of the most used types of grapes are Chardonnay , Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Verdejo, Torrontés and Albariño. Each of them tells the story of its terroir, with flavors and aromas that transport you to beautiful places.
One of these excellent wines is the Suañé Blanco Reserva. A wine made with Sauvignon Blanc and Viura, which rested for 13 months in barrel and then another 15 months in bottle. Its golden color is elegant and its aromas of white flower, apple and spices are an invitation to a unique experience. As for the taste, this is fresh and fruity, with good tannin. A magnificent example of great wine.
Like all good white wines, Reserva can be perfectly served with fish and white meat. Birds in clear sauces go very well with a glass of this broth, as do rice dishes, paellas and seafood.
The cured cheeses with strong flavors, as well as smoked meats make an excellent combination with this white wine, highlighting your tastes and magnifying the experience.
In order for a Reserve wine to be preserved for the maximum time, it is advisable to follow some indications. First of all, avoid excessive heat or cold. The ideal is to keep them fresh, at a temperature of 10°C to 15°C.
Avoid light, as this could accelerate the aging of the wine. Keep enough moisture so that the cork does not lose its elastic properties and dries out. Finally, avoid noises and movement.
The ideal is that the wines rest quietly, imitating a little the conditions of the wineries where they were born. In this way, you can keep it for many years and enjoy it when it is at its best.
