All about Semi-Sweet White Wine

White wine is one that is made from white grapes, although it can also be obtained from the red grape, provided that it presents the right conditions to preserve the characteristics of this broth.

For example, the fruit should not have color in the pulp or be macerated together with its skins. That is why it is known under the denomination β€œin virgin” since grape must is only used during fermentation, leaving aside the solid parts.

Recommended semi-sweet wine in our store

In our online store we have semi-sweet wines that enjoy an excellent assessment by experts and our regular customers who love our catalogue. Based on this we recommend the following:

Cielito Lindo Semi-Sweet Muscat

The white semi-sweet Cielito Lindo is 100% Muscat, and we can pair it with Asian food, tapas and some snacks. Of course, it is also an excellent broth for desserts, as it enhances the flavor of them.

What is a semi-sweet wine?

A semi-sweet white wine is one that contains between 30 and 50 grams of sugar per liter of liquor. This gives it a sweetish taste that is not directly related to the fruit flavor, since this extra touch comes from the added glucose.

The grapes used for this type of semi-sweet wines are very special, highlighting among them Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat, among many others.

It is in the classification according to its sugar level that we find several categories, including semi-sweet white wine.

To taste this wine, it is recommended to start by enjoying its aromas, which are usually very marked, with floral and fruity tones that are deliciously intertwined. Then, its taste is usually mild, with fresh and light notes, leaving a good memory.

It should be served in a high-waisted glass with a wide enough mouth. Never exceed 2/3 of it, since there is a risk that the liquid will heat up, reaching room temperature, while the ideal is to keep it between 7Β°C and 9Β°C.

How are sweet white wines different from semi-sweet?

Unlike semisweet, sweet white wine is the one that contains more than 50 grams of sugar per liter of broth.

These are perfect to pair with Asian foods and spicy taste, as it enhances the variety of spices and flavors offered by this cuisine. Of course, if you prefer, you can also combine them with desserts, as long as you are a fan of those sweet tastes that you will find in both the dish and the wine.
